Menus - 9 menus along the top of the screen
Click on a menu - it 'drops down'
Little arrows at the bottom means that not all the options are displayed.

 
Either double-click on the menu title or single click on the arrows at the bottom.
Toolbars - 2 main toolbars - Standard and Formatting, as shown above.
Cannot see both?
Go to View menu, Toolbars - 'Standard' and 'Formatting' should both be ticked.


Both are ticked but you still cannot see them?
They are overlapped and sharing the same row!

 

 


Part of the Standard toolbar is hidden behind the Formatting toolbar.
Move the mouse pointer to the vertical line before 'Normal' the cursor changes shape, click and gently drag downwards to reveal both toolbars
 

Icons/Tools (Shortcuts)
- Picture 'tiles' on the toolbar! 

If a tool is 'greyed' out like the scissors above, it is not available for you to use at that time - you may need to 'select' some work first!
